If you are planning a conference, seminar or social event, the Office of Conference Services at St. John’s University offers superb resources at our conveniently located New York City campuses, in Queens, Manhattan, and Staten Island.

Overnight Accommodations and Day Rental Facilities
The Office of Conference Services offers affordable overnight accommodations in our residence halls on all three campuses from June 1st through mid-August of each year.

Summer Housing
A summer at St. John's University will provide you with a tranquil atmosphere and a completely new take on our suburban campus, as well as easy access to dynamic New York City. Conveniently located in Queens, the relaxed environment gives students a quick and easy commute into New York City’s marquee borough.

In addition, these three campuses offer a wide variety of well-equipped meeting facilities, classrooms, and lecture halls available for usage throughout the year.

Catering Services

All catering requests should include the Campus and Event Location (building and room), the order, your contact information and budget number.  Orders should be submitted at least three business days in advance.  If you have any questions, please contact the respective Chartwells catering office.

Host a Conference

We provide a full range of services to groups and individuals visiting the St. John's campuses during the summer months. Services include housing accommodations, dining services, and meeting and recreational facilities. Educational workshops, leadership training seminars, athletic programs, international travel abroad sessions, religious retreats and missions are some of the groups that have utilized our facilities.

Affordable Overnight Accommodations
St. John's provides affordable overnight accommodations in the residence halls from June 1 to mid-August on the Queens, Manhattan, and Staten Island campuses. The air-conditioned accommodations are available in single, double, triple or suite-style occupancy.  Our Queens campus also offers townhouse style living with 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom, living room and full kitchen accommodations.

Host Your Own Personal or Professional Conference
You can host your next personal or professional conference on campus.  Our facilities can accommodate groups that range in size from 10 to 5,500.  Our dining services offer simple coffee and breakfast setups, executive box lunches and barbecues, to sit-down dinners.

Requests for room reservations (with the exception of the School of Law) must be submitted to the Office of Conference Services using a Room Reservation Form. Requests are handled in the order in which they are received.

Our residence halls offer a variety of living options, including traditional and suite-style halls, as well as apartment-style housing.  All rooms are air conditioned and include utilities and Wi-Fi at no additional cost. 

Traditional style accommodations are typically two triples with an adjoining bathroom. Each triple includes a bunk bed, plus one additional standard bed. A desk, desk chair, and clothing storage drawers are also included for each guest within the room. 

Suite style accommodations are typically four bedrooms with two bathrooms. Bedrooms range in occupancy from single to triple. Each suite also contains a common area with lounge and dining furniture. Kitchen cabinetry, a microwave, and small refrigerator are also included within each suite.

Apartment style accommodations are typically four bedrooms and two bathrooms, similar to our suite style accommodations. The apartments include all items listed within the suite style accommodations, but have a full refrigerator/freezer unit and oven stove and range. 

Lounges of various intent are available in most buildings and include a tv lounge, game lounge, study lounge, and a lounge with kitchen cabinetry and a full oven range.

ESL Program

Have fun exploring one of the world’s most famous cities while you learn English with St. John’s University- ESL Summer Program!

St. John’s University offers ESL Summer Programs for guests coming to New York on an educational tour.  Experience an intense language immersion mixed with an independent NYC experience!  Language courses help guests learn how to communicate in academic and social situations.

Our guests enjoy many dining and catering options.  Breakfast, lunch and dinner meal plans are available for our overnight guests including all-you-can-eat, buffet style dining. 

Our dorms are typically suite style apartments with single, double, triple and quad occupancy. There is 24 / 7 security; washers & dryers; microwaves; apartment refrigerators; as well as lounges and free WIFI.

St. John's is truly a blend of the benefits of New York City and the serenity of a rural campus. The Queens campus encompasses over 100 acres located in a quiet, residential neighborhood boasting wide-open green lawns. The University lies within easy reach of Manhattan, allowing our guests access to the vast cultural, educational, religious and commercial resources this magnificent city has to offer.  The campus is located just 7 miles from both LaGuardia and John F. Kennedy airports.  It is accessible by all public transportation including trains, buses, and car services.

Marillac Auditorium is a newly renovated venue, with a seating capacity of 560.

Do you rent your facilities for meeting, conferences, and graduation ceremonies?
Yes, we offer a variety of classrooms, meeting rooms, and auditoriums for an affordable rental fee.

What are the largest meeting facilities that St. John’s has to offer?
Our largest facility in the Manhattan campus, the Saval Auditorium, seats 129 people. The campus has classrooms that range in capacity from 15 - 72 seats.  Carnesecca Arena, on our Queens campus can accommodate up to 5,500 people.  Our Staten Island campus has the ability to accommodate 125 people in its largest facility. 

Will the Office of Conference Services assist me with providing the proper setup for my event?
Yes, we will work hand-in-hand with each of our clients to facilitate your event setup.  In addition, a member of our team will be on the premises the day of your event to ensure its success.

What is a Pass?
A Pass is a document generated from the Banner system that lists the rooms you’ve reserved with start and end times.  The Pass is your confirmed reservation. 

What are your AV/IT capabilities?
Microphones, projectors, laptops, TV/DVD/VCR, and flip charts are available for daily rentals and overnight groups. 

Overnight Accomodations

Do you offer overnight accommodations?
Yes, St. John’s offers overnight accommodations from June 1 through mid-August to include single, double, triple, quad, apartment, or townhouse occupancy.  Linens are available upon request. 

  • Queens campus – All residence halls, with one exception, have either three or four bedrooms per suite as well as two bathrooms and a common area.  Donovan Hall suites have two large bedrooms that share a common bathroom.  Our townhouses offer double and triple occupancy rooms with a common area, two bathrooms and a full-service kitchen
  • Staten Island campus – The apartment style housing consists of a bed, desk, desk chair, and dresser per guest.  The common area has a couch, coffee table, lounge chair, dining table, dining chair, and full-service kitchen

What forms of dining do you have on campus?
All three campuses have menus that range from simple coffee breaks and box lunches to buffets, formal receptions, and dinners.  The Queens campus offers an all-you-can-eat Meal Plan during the summer months.  

Is a fitness center available to overnight guests?
Fitness center facilities are available on all three campuses and can be accessed at a minimal rate by our summer conference guests. 

Are there restaurants and stores in close proximity to the University?
The area around the Queens campus is primarily residential; however, there are many restaurants and stores along Union Turnpike adjacent to the Queens campus.  The Manhattan campus is surrounded by great shopping and dining, and is within walking distance of Wall Street, the South Street Seaport and other cultural attractions. The Staten Island campus is within close proximity to the Staten Island Ferry. 

Is parking available?
Parking for guests is available at the Queens and Staten Island campuses and requires a parking pass provided by the Office of Conference Services.

Do you have access to the Internet, telephones, and ATM machines in the residence halls?
Internet and telephone services can be provided upon request to the Office of Conference Services.  There are ATM machines located on each campus. 

Is transportation available near the campus?
All of our NYC campuses are located within close proximity to trains, buses, subways, and JFK and LaGuardia airports.
