Institutional Effectiveness

Institutional Effectiveness Word Treatment

Institutional Effectiveness (IE) brings together data, research, assessment, and accreditation activities to support the University community, programs, and students. We are focused on assisting all program constituents in making timely data-informed decisions that serve to improve all aspects of the student experience. We provide open and transparent access to information across the community, which in turn drives research, program improvement, and institutional health.

IE is composed of three subdivisions:

Data Requests

The Institutional Effectiveness (IE) team developed a data request form to assist with managing data requests for both internal and external stakeholders. This form ensures requests from University faculty, administrators, and staff are addressed in a timely fashion and reviewed by the appropriate members of the IE team.

If you are requesting St. John's data for your research/publications, please follow these steps:

  1. Submit Data Use Agreement (DUA) for approval. Once approved or denied, the DUA will be sent back to researcher. Please allow 3-5 business days for a decision.

  2.  Complete the Institutional Review Board (IRB) application and include the signed DUA as documentation to answer the question “Do you have permission from the data owner to use this data? If yes, please attach a letter from the owner of the data giving you permission to use this data.”

  3. Complete the Office of Institutional Effectiveness (IE) Data Request Form, noting that this is an ‘Institutional Review Board data request’, and include the IRB application number, full IRB application, and IRB approval letter as attachments. The Data Request is routed through IE and the data is provided. Please allow up to 10 business days to receive the requested data.
