- Graduate Admissions Assistance Program
In recent years, St. John’s University students have achieved notable success in securing prestigious scholarships and fellowships, including Marshall, Truman, Goldwater, Fulbright, Luce, Udall, and Knight-Hennessy. These award recipients have worked with the Graduate Admissions Assistance Program (GAAP) in the Office of the Provost, receiving guidance through the application and institutional nomination processes.
GAAP also supports students in developing strong academic profiles and provides strategic advising for graduate school applications. In addition, the program administers an annual summer research initiative that awards up to ten stipends of $2,800. These awards are designed to give undergraduate students the opportunity to conduct serious research under the guidance of faculty mentors, helping to strengthen their academic profiles for graduate admission.
Register
To register, St. John’s University students and recent SJU alum should fill out the GAAP survey and email it to [email protected]. Please note that GAAP is not involved with awards for Graduate Assistantships or admission to St. John’s University.
The Council on Undergraduate Research
The Council hosts a Registry of Undergraduate Researchers. The purpose of this registry is to facilitate matchmaking between undergraduates who have research experience and a desire to pursue an advanced degree, with graduate schools seeking high quality students who are well prepared for research. There is no charge to the student and records will be made available to bona fide Graduate Schools that contract with CUR for this service. This way, schools can find you! Check it out at The Council on Undergraduate Research’s site.
