Graduate Admissions Assistance Program

In recent years St. John’s University students have enjoyed unprecedented success in landing prestigious scholarships and fellowships such as Marshall, Truman, Goldwater, and Fulbright.  These award-winners have worked through the Graduate Admissions Assistance Program (GAAP) of the Office of the Provost with the application and required nomination process. GAAP also assists students develop their academic profiles and provides advice on the application process for graduate school.  In addition, GAAP administers an annual summer research program which awards up to ten research stipends in the amount of $2800 that enable students to work together with a SJU mentor on a research project.

To register, St. John’s University students and recent SJU alum should fill out the GAAP survey and email it to [email protected].   Please note that GAAP is not involved with awards for Graduate Assistantships or admission to St. John’s University.

The Council on Undergraduate Research

The Council hosts a Registry of Undergraduate Researchers.  The purpose of this registry is to facilitate matchmaking between undergraduates who have research experience and a desire to pursue an advanced degree, with graduate schools seeking high quality students who are well prepared for research.  There is no charge to the student and records will be made available to bona fide Graduate Schools that contract with CUR for this service. This way, schools can find you!  Check it out at The Council on Undergraduate Research’s site.
