Annie R. Sharpe

Professor
Dr. Sharpe was Dean, and Joseph and Maria Schwartz Distinguished Chair, at The Peter J. Tobin College of Business at St. John’s University from 2016 – 2023. Dr. Sharpe is currently Director, M.S. in Business Analytics Program and Professor in the Department of Business Analytics and Information Systems at St. John’s. Prior to joining St. John’s, she served as Senior Associate Dean at the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University and Professor of Statistics at Babson College.
An accomplished researcher with more than 30 scholarly publications, and a consultant to business schools worldwide on issues of assessment and accreditation, Dr. Sharpe is co-author (w/ P. Walker and N. Hubbard) of the chapter on Enterprise Risk Management in Business Education in the recent book TheFuture of Business Schools, Edward Elgar Publishing, 2022. She is also co-author of the textbook Business Statistics, (w/ R. De Veaux and P. Velleman), Pearson Education, now in its 4th Edition.
Dr. Sharpe served as a prior honorary committee member of the American Women for International Understanding (AWIU) and in 2017, was elected as a member of the Women’s Forum of New York, an organization of women leaders representing the highest levels of professional achievement across all sectors and industries in New York City. She currently serves on the boards of multiple not-for-profit organizations.
Dr. Sharpe earned her B.A. in Mathematics from Mount Holyoke College, her M.S. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of North Carolina, and her Ph.D. in Systems Engineering from the University of Virginia.
