ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE (ESL) PROGRAM
Join us on campus in New York City (NYC) for our innovative program that connects the classroom to the real world, focusing on the English you will need to communicate effectively in academic, business, or personal settings. In our affordable classes, we use current technology tools to talk about today’s news; help you write clear, organized emails and essays; and improve your comprehension of everything from movies, conversations and lectures. - Tuition: reasonably priced courses - $2250 for intensive, 7-week sessions

- Conditional Admission to St. John's University: available for qualified students who complete our full-time program

Our ESL courses reach beyond listening, speaking, reading and writing. They incorporate online activities, such as reading news articles, watching news reports, viewing YouTube and movie clips, writing e-mails and sharing opinions on a blog or social networking site.
Courses Include:
- Critical Reading: Online News to Academic Texts
- Effective Writing: Emails to Essays
- Dynamic Listening: Social Interactions to Academic Lectures
- Confident Speaking: Conversations to Presentations
- Pronunciation: Making Yourself Understood
Full-time
- 5 courses (18 hours a week): $2250 per 7-week session
Part-time Day Program
- Any of the following courses (3 hours per week): $375
- Critical Reading: Online News to Academic Texts
- Dynamic Listening: Social Interactions to Academic Lectures
- Confident Speaking: Conversations to Presentations
- Pronunciation: Making Yourself Understood
- Effective Writing: Emails to Essays (6 hours per week): $750

The English Language Institute is a full-time, intensive English language program for international students who are preparing to apply to the University, but have not taken the TOEFL; or who have been conditionally admitted to the University, but have lower TOEFL scores than the University requires. Academically qualified students who have been conditionally admitted to the University and successfully complete the English Language Institute may begin the degree program of their choice.
