NEW: Click this link to view the Office of Distance Learning's Evolution of Online Learning and Teaching Resources LibGuide! This guide is filled with research that has been turned into 'bite sized' resources for all things Online Learning! Throughout the guide, you will find various topics that have been a constant theme since transitioning to Online Learning at the beginning of the pandemic. In collaboration with the Office of Distance Education and the Center for Faculty Success and Development the guide is readily accessible to assist faculty members when teaching online.
Online Teaching Resources
Center for Faculty Success and Development
The Center for Faculty Success and Development (CFSD) supports excellence in teaching and encourages research, publications, and other scholarly and creative work produced by the University’s faculty. In addition, CFSD hosts workshops and other events throughout the academic year. Register for a workshop
Academic Technology
The Academic Technology department offers assistance with University-supported technologies, one-on-one training, and conducts workshops to promote use of technology in both virtual and face-to-face classrooms. You can also learn about emerging technologies. Register for a workshop.
University Library
St. John’s University Libraries support teaching and learning by providing access to physical and electronic resources, information literacy instruction, research assistance and other academic services for students and faculty. Faculty can request an instruction session, which can be customized to meet the needs of their student learning objectives. The Librarian Liaison Program embeds librarian faculty within specific academic departments across the University. Librarians can answer research questions or provide one-on-one research consultations.
Open Educational Resources
Open Educational Resources (OER) are teaching and learning materials that you may use without charge. If you need images, project ideas, a look at a syllabus from a course in a similar discipline, or ideas for lessons, OER can provide answers and inspiration, as well as save time and money.
