Teaching and Learning Certificate Program for Pharmacy Residents and Fellows 2026-2027

The Teaching Certificate Program is a 9 session synchronous course that meets monthly, offering a total of 18 hours of continuing pharmacy education (CPE) credit. This longitudinal professional development series is designed to equip pharmacy residents and fellows with foundational skills in teaching, precepting, and educational scholarship. This program is ideal for those interested in academic pharmacy, clinical education, or enhancing their instructional abilities in practice-based settings.

Over the course of nine sessions, participants will engage in interactive workshops covering essential topics such as instructional design, adult learning theory, experiential teaching, and assessment strategies. Each session includes hands-on learning activities and practical assignments that promote reflection, collaboration, and skill development.

Participants will also develop a personal teaching philosophy, design instructional materials, and receive feedback on their teaching through peer and facilitator evaluations.

Save the Date: APhA Immunization Program November 7, 2026

APhA’s Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery certificate training program (14th Edition) is based on national educational standards for immunization training from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. This practice-based curriculum represents a fusion of science and clinical pharmacy.The program, which emphasizes a healthcare team approach, seeks to foster the implementation of interventions that will promote disease prevention and public health. This certificate training program aims to prepare pharmacists with the comprehensive knowledge, skills, and resources necessary to provide immunization services to patients across the lifespan. The Immunization Delivery Certificate Program is co-sponsored by the American Pharmacists Association. The program is conducted in three parts: a self-study activity, a live interactive training seminar, and a live practical assessment session. APhA has enabled the self-study course materials online.

THERE ARE 3 COMPONENTS TO THIS COURSE: 12-HOUR HOME SELF-STUDY 8-HOUR IN-CLASS LIVE SESSIONS LIVE PRACTICAL

**All components are required!

Home Study: DUE OCTOBER 23 at 5 p.m. A 12-hour home study module must be completed PRIOR to the live session and practical. You will receive instructions on how to complete those modules after you pay and register for the program.

Live Session and Live Practical: These components will take place at St. Vincent Health Sciences Center (HSC) in Room G-016A.

REGISTRATION ENDS SEPTEMBER 28 @ 5 p.m.
Upon registration, instructions will be sent to registrants on how to register with the APhA website. You can also find instructions at our website.
