Tina A. Caliendo

Associate Professor

Dr. Tina Caliendo is a Board-Certified Ambulatory Care Pharmacist (BCACP) and a Board-Certified Geriatric Pharmacist (BCGP). She also holds certifications as a Tobacco Treatment Specialist (CTTS), in Mental Health First Aid (MHFA), Opioid Overdose Prevention, Community Pharmacy-Based Point-of-Care Testing (POCT), Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery, Medication Therapy Management (MTM), and Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT).

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from St. John’s University and her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Florida.

Dr. Caliendo began her career in community pharmacy, practicing in both independent and chain settings throughout New York City and Long Island. She also serves as a consultant pharmacist for long-term care facilities, providing monthly drug regimen reviews for both subacute and long-term care residents.

In 2013, Dr. Caliendo joined the faculty at St. John’s University in the Department of Clinical Health Professions, where she is now an Associate Professor. She trains Doctor of Pharmacy students in areas such as SBIRT, opioid overdose prevention, immunization delivery, and point-of-care testing. In 2024, she was appointed co-coordinator of the College of Pharmacy’s UWorld NAPLEX Review Program.
