- Suzanna Schmeelk, Ed.D., DPS
Dr. Suzanna Schmeelk is an Associate Professor of Cybersecurity and Director of St. John's University M.S. in Cyber and Information Security. She comes to St. John’s University with over ten years of technical information security industry experience at organizations including The City of New York, Bell Laboratories, Yahoo!, eBay, Sloan Kettering, Battelle, New York Presbyterian and Paradyne.
Dr. Schmeelk also spent over 10 years teaching and as a visiting researcher in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) at numerous organizations (Rutgers University, Pace University, University of Maryland Global Campus, Cooper Union, Touro University, University of California at Berkeley, Columbia University, New York University, Parsons School of Design, and The New York Academy of Science).
Dr.Schmeelk currently holds nine-degrees (8 advanced) including: two doctorates: a D.P.S. in Computing specializing in Mobile Security from Pace University and an Ed.D. in Mathematics Education from Rutgers University. Dr. Schmeelk holds an M.B.A. specializing in Cybersecurity from University of Maryland Global Campus; 5 M.S. degrees: M.S. Health Informatics from Cornell University, M.S. Cybersecurity from University of Maryland Global Campus, M.S. Data Visualization from Parsons - The New School for Design, M.S. Computer Science from William-Mary, M.S. Technology Management from New York University; and a B.S. in Computer Science with a minor in Mathematics from University of Richmond.
Dr. Schmeelk also holds three state certificates in different aspects of Cybersecurity from Carnegie Mellon University, Stanford University, and New York University along with industry certifications.

Research Interests
Dr. Schmeelk’s research interests lie in Cybersecurity, Computational Thinking, Mathematics Education, Mobile/Health Technology Security, special topics in Cybersecurity, Machine Learning, Cybersecurity Risk Management and Social Justice. A list of her publications can be found on Google Scholar.
