Sungwon Kim, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Sport Management. He received a Ph.D. in Health and Human Performance (with a concentration in sport management) from the University of Florida. His research centers on law and policy issues in sport with a particular emphasis on risk management. Recently, his research has focused on legal and risk management issues regarding concussions in youth sport with the primary goal of informing policy and practice in an effort to reduce injuries, fatalities, and liability. Dr. Kim’s research has been published in several peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Policy Research in Tourism, Leisure & Events, Journal of Legal Aspects of Sport, Asia Pacific Journal of Sport and Social Science, and Journal of Amateur Sport.
