Simon M. Pack

Associate Professor
Simon Pack is an Associate Professor in the Division of Sport Management and holds a Ph.D. in Sport Management from The Ohio State University; an M.S. in Sport Administration from UNC Chapel Hill; a B.A. in Business Administration and a B.S. in Recreation, Parks, and Tourism from the University of Florida.

From 2005 – 2008 Pack served as an assistant professor in the Sport Management program at the University of Louisville. Prior to that, he served in various roles for organizations in the fields of sport marketing, sponsorship, event management, collegiate athletic administration, and student athlete support services. Prior to coming to St. John’s (2008 to 2014) he working in the Middle East developing sport programs with various Olympic and non-Olympic sport governing bodies. He also managed sport facilities for municipal governments and conducted logistical operations for major sporting events. Upon returning to the New York City metropolitan area in 2014, Pack established a nonprofit organization to continue his work supporting diversity, undeserved, and disabled populations. His research interests include organizational behavior, human resource management, the psycho-social aspects of sport, and using sport as a tool for development.
