Raymond C. Niles is Assistant Professor of Economics at St. John’s University. He is also Senior Fellow at the American Institute for Economic Research, the oldest economic research organization in the United States, where he writes a periodic column on economic affairs. Dr. Niles holds a Ph.D. in Economics from George Mason University and an MBA in Finance & Economics from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University. Prior to his academic career, Dr. Niles worked on Wall Street as Senior Equity Research Analyst at Goldman Sachs, Schroders, and Citigroup, and as Managing Partner of a hedge fund investing in energy securities. Dr. Niles has authored scholarly journal and popular media articles, and contributed book chapters to several books, including The Morality of Finance, and Covid & the Economic Crisis. Niles is a member of the Board of Advisors of Saheb Architecture, PLC.
