Melinda Amy Liu joins St. John’s University as a tenure-track Assistant Professor/Industry Professional and Clinical Coordinator of the Clinical Laboratory Sciences program in the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Forensic Science with a focus in Criminalistics from John Jay College of Criminal Justice and a Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Sciences from St. John’s University. She went on to complete a Master of Arts in Education with a concentration in Learning Design and Technology and Global Education from Arizona State University.

Professor Liu is a licensed, board-certified clinical laboratory scientist with more than 10 years of professional experience specializing in clinical hematology, having worked at major hospital systems including NewYork-Presbyterian and NYU Langone. Prior to her faculty appointment, she served as an adjunct lecturer for the Clinical Laboratory Sciences program at St. John’s University for five years. Her academic interests include the application of learning design and technology in science laboratory courses, curriculum innovation, and strategies that enhance student engagement and global perspectives in clinical education.
