Wilson McDermut

Associate Professor

Biography

Dr. McDermut received his PhD in clinical psychology from American University and completed his internship at Brown University’s Clinical Psychology Internship Consortium. He completed a two-year post-doctoral fellowship at Brown University’s School of Medicine and completed another post-doctoral fellowship in Rational-Emotive Behavior Therapy at the Albert Ellis Institute from 2002 to 2004. He is Director of St. John's University's M.A. program in Psychology.

Research Interests

Comorbidity and the associations between personality, personality disorders, and psychopathology; psychological assessment; cognitive factors in psychopathology; the validity of psychiatric disorders.
