Nancy P. Morabito, Ph. D., earned her doctoral degree in Learning, Teaching, and Diversity with a specialization in Math and Science Education at Peabody College of Education and Human Development at Vanderbilt University. Dr. Morabito is currently an Associate Clinical Professor of Science Education in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction at St. John’s University in New York. Having completed her undergraduate studies in Biology and subsequently earning her master’s degree in Secondary Education, Dr. Morabito taught Biology, AP Biology, and Anatomy and Physiology to students in grades nine through twelve before pursuing her doctoral degree. Throughout her doctoral program, Dr. Morabito had the privilege of working with students and teachers across a range of grade levels to explore and strengthen students’ science learning experiences. Dr. Morabito’s current work focuses on in-service and pre-service teachers’ understanding of science and how this understanding influences classroom practice. She also explores writing in the science classroom.
