Dr. Russon received his undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of Pittsburgh in 1976. He received his M.A. and Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Mississippi in 1977 and 1985.

Dr. Russon has been at St. John's since 1990 and was awarded tenure in June 1995. He was selected as Outstanding College of Business Professor of the Year for the academic years 1990-91 and 1994-95. During the academic year 1995-96 he served as Associate Director of the Business Research Institute.

Prior to coming to St. John's University Dr. Russon taught at the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama and at Delta State University in Cleveland, MS.

Dr. Russon's research expertise is in the area of mathematical modeling. Specifically, he concentrates on building and estimating highly intricate passenger flow models for the short haul commercial aviation industry and models of derivative products for the financial services industry. In those regards, he has consulting experience with a number of aerospace, aviation and investment firms. Dr. Russon has published over 15 articles on commercial aviation and asset allocation. He has made ten domestic and international conference presentations involving the same topics.
