Joy Malone

Assistant Professor

 

Joy Malone is a fine art photographer known for her nighttime landscape imagery. She currently freelances for Reuters as well as runs her business Joy Malone Photography.  Her work has been published in the NY Times and the Wall Street Journal to name a few publications. Her work has also been written into a Master’s level photography course where students study her photography series “The American Dream”. Born and raised in New Rochelle, New York, she grew up with an appreciation for the arts. She obtained her BA from St. John’s University in Philosophy and Photography. She later went on to receive her Master’s degree of Fine Arts in Fine Art Photography from Academy of Art University. She has won multiple awards for her photography, exhibited in galleries, as well as sold her fine art photographs domestically and abroad.  As an undergrad Joy designed a photography program to help expose children to the art of darkroom photography. Over 100 girls and boys participated in the program. After finishing graduate school in 2010 Joy became an Assistant Adjunct Professor at St. John's University.
