Dr. James P. Minas earned his PhD in Operations Research and Statistics from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT), Australia in 2013. Prior to joining Tobin in 2021, he spent seven years in AACSB-accredited business schools including a visiting position at Wilfrid Laurier University, Canada and tenure-track appointments at SUNY New Paltz and Ithaca College.

Teaching Interests

Business Analytics, Business Statistics, Decision Sciences.

Research Interests

Use of advanced analytics methods (such as: optimization, simulation, graph theory, and machine-learning) to provide insights into complex business problems and help make better decisions. Application areas I have worked on include: emergency/disaster management, supply chain coordination, healthcare operations and taxation policy.
