Dr. Lu received his Ph.D. degree in Operations Research and Information Systems from Syracuse University, a M. S. in Operations Research and a M. S. in Engineering Mechanics, both from Georgia Institute of Technology, and a B.S in Engineering Science from National Cheng-Kung University, Taiwan. Dr. Lu had also completed a self-study 6-exam curriculum offered by the College for Financial Planning and was designated as a CFP by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards in 1994.

Dr. Lu’s research interests are in the fields of decision sciences and information technology, and the integration of both of them. He published a number of peer-reviewed articles in journals and has made numerous presentations at international and national conferences and symposia. One of his representative publications is the paper entitled “M/M/1 Queueing Decision Processes with Monotone Hysteretic Optimal Policies’” that appeared in Operations Research, Vol. 32, No. 5, 1984. In addition, Dr. Lu has authored two books in the field of decision sciences, edited four conference proceedings, published chapters in several academic books, and actively served in various international and national academic organizations by holding the roles of conference chair, program chair, track chair, associate editor, and reviewer. He serves on editorial and review boards for several journals including the Review of Business, Journal of Global Business and Technology, and The Journal of Business and Economic Studies.

Dr. Lu has received several academic honors and awards including the University's Faculty Achievement Award, several Faculty Merit Awards and many Faculty Research Awards. His prior consulting clients included NYNEX and several other firms. Among several professional memberships, he has been a member of INFORMS since 1980.

Teaching Interests

Dr. Lu teaches in the fields of Decision Analytics and Information Systems, including Decision Sciences and Spreadsheet Modeling, Database Management, Business Statistics, Advanced Managerial Statistics and Advanced Software Applications for Business
