Ellen Boegel

Prof. Boegel serves as the Legal Studies Program Director for the Staten Island campus. She earned her Juris Doctor from The National Law Center at George Washington University where she was a member of The George Washington Law Review. Before joining the faculty at St. John’s University, Prof. Boegel clerked at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and worked as an Assistant Counsel at the Unified Court System for the State of New York. Prof. Boegel is the Contributing Legal Editor for America magazine (https://www.americamagazine.org/voices/ellen-k-boegel) and volunteers as an attorney panelist on the NYS Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs’ Surrogate Decision-Making Committees.
