Assistant Professor
Eleanor X. Mehta is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Education Specialties in the School of Education at St. John's University. She earned a Ph.D. in Educational Theory and Practice and an Ed.S. in Special Education from the University of Georgia, as well as an M.Ed. in Special Education from Vanderbilt University. Dr. Mehta’s research centers on the intersection of race, culture, gender, and disability, and pushes for asset-based approaches to working with culturally and linguistically diverse children and families. Her work specifically focuses on immigrant families and children with disabilities, using culturally situated qualitative methodologies.Courses Taught
