Catherine Bell, joins St. John’s University as a tenure-track Assistant Professor/Industry Professional in the Department of Nursing in the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. Dr. Bell completed her doctorate in Nursing Practice from Chamberlain University in 2020. Her research interests include her predoctoral work with reducing the incidence of hyperbilirubinemia in the exclusively breastfed newborn and shortening the length of the second stage of labor with the use of a peanut ball. She continues to pursue her research interests in women’s health by researching the physical and psychological impact of vulvar lichen sclerosis in postmenopausal women. 

Dr. Bell is an active member of Sigma Theta Tau International. She served as a past president for the Chi Gamma chapter at SUNY Farmingdale and current vice president for the Alpha Omega chapter at Adelphi University.
