Dr. Brian Harte was named Associate Dean of External Affairs and Graduate Studies within the Collins College of Professional Studies (CCPS) on June 1, 2021. Dr. Harte previously served as Interim Associate Dean within the CCPS for academic year 2020-2021. He earned his Ph.D. in Business Administration from Touro College–Touro University International, specializing in management/organizations. Dr. Harte is a certified fraud examiner, certified homeland protection professional, and certified master anti-terrorism specialist. Additionally, he holds a master’s degree in criminal justice from Tarleton State University and a graduate certificate in emergency and disaster management from Trident University. Dr. Harte was a Professor of Criminal Justice with the State University of New York system. Collectively, he has more than 16 years of experience teaching and working within the criminal justice field. He is a military veteran and currently volunteers with the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. Dr. Harte has developed and taught courses in criminal justice, homeland security, and fraud examination. His academic research interests include white-collar crime, illegal corporate behavior, terrorism and antecedents to fraud. He is an international award winning researcher with work distributed in the languages of Spanish, Italian, Arabic, and French.
