I teach curriculum and methods courses to undergraduates. I have been a faculty member at St. John’s for over 30 years with my office on the Staten Island Campus. I teach at least one course each semester on the Queens Campus. My latest book is Reading Instruction in America published by McFarland in October, 2015. I have received a Grant from Consolidated Edison in the past 3 years for the “A storytelling network” program to teach adults for whom English is a second language to read children’s books to their children. I am working on a new book to be called Put the Play Back in to K. In 2015 I was voted Outstanding Education Professor by the Staten Island students. I am a Fellow of the College of Teachers which was formed as a society in 1846 and was incorporated by Royal Charter as the College of Preceptors in 1849. It became the College of Teachers in 1998 in London, England. I enjoy including a variety of Children’s Literature resources into all of the courses I teach.
