Anthony Rodriguez

Assistant Professor

Rodriguez comes to St. John’s University as an Assistant Professor of Sociology and Anthropology. His M.A. and Ph.D. are from the University of Southern California in the area of American Studies. His areas of specialization include race, class, gender and sexuality, decolonial theory, antiracist social justice, 19th- and 20th-century American culture and politics, and comparative Ethnic Studies. His scholarship ranges across biographical studies, cultural studies, political theory, and intellectual history. Rodriguez’s forthcoming work explores new theories of “the human” that are driving the grassroots social movements of late modernity’s structurally marginalized global populations.
