Dr. Vakil earned his Ph.D. in Applied Statistics from the Fox School of Business at Temple University in 1990. Dr. Vakil holds an MBA in Finance from LaSalle University and an MS in Applied Statistics from the Fox School of Business at Temple University. Prior to joining St. John’s University, Dr. Vakil taught at Bucknell University, Temple University, and Rutgers University. Dr. Vakil has a broad range of research interests. He has published over 15 scholarly articles in prominent statistical journals, including the Journal of Statistical Inference and Planning. Dr. Vakil has served as a referee for highly prestigious statistical journals, including the Journal of the American Statistical Association. His current research interest is in Data and Predictive Analytics. Dr. Vakil has received several academic honors and awards, including Faculty Merit Awards and Faculty Research Awards. Dr. Vakil lives on Long Island, NY, where he proactively participates in his community and school district activities.
