Dr. Vakil earned his Ph.D. degree in Applied Statistics from the Fox Business School of Temple University in 1990. Dr. Vakil Holds an MBA degree in Finance from LaSalle University and an MS in Applied Statistics from the Fox Business School of Temple University. Prior to joining St. John’s University, Dr. Vakil taught at Bucknell University, Temple University and Rutgers University. Dr. Vakil has a broad range of research interest. He has published over 15 scholarly articles in prominent statistical journals such as the Journal of Statistical Inference and Planning. Dr. Vakil has served as a referee of highly prestigious statistical journals such as the Journal of American Statistical Association. His current research interest is in Data and Predictive Analytics. Dr. Vakil has received several academic honors and awards including Faculty Merit Awards and Faculty Research Awards. Dr. Vakil lives on Long Island, NY where he proactively participates in his community and school district activities.
