Tobin College offers several Master of Science (M.S.) programs that range from 30 to 33 credits. The Tobin College M.S. programs use experiential and innovative techniques, as well as discussions, applications, case studies, and real-world projects, to transcend the normal classroom experience while giving you a global perspective and connections with alumni and corporate executives.

Additional Information

Applicants accepted to the below programs are automatically considered for scholarships based on their academic qualifications.

  • M.S. Actuarial Science: $5,000–Full Tuition
  • M.S. Enterprise Risk Management (ERM): $5,000–Full Tuition
  • M.S. Risk Management and Risk Analytics (RMRA): $5,000–Full Tuition
  • M.S. Risk and Financial Advisory: $1,500–$6,000
  • M.S. Taxation: $1,500–$6,000

Additional scholarships are available through the Tobin College of Business for high-achieving individuals. These scholarships range from $5,000 to $10,000. Students selected for these scholarships are notified directly by their program director. 

Students accepted to the M.S. ERM and M.S. RMRA are also eligible to apply for the Insurance Leader of the Year fellowship, a full tuition fellowship which is designed for high-achieving students.

As a CFA-affiliated University with six CFA charter holders on faculty, we are eligible to award more than 20 CFA awareness scholarships to students in the program every year. This scholarship provides a program enrollment fee waiver and reduced exam registration fee.

Applicants pursuing full-time study (9+ credits each semester) are eligible to apply for graduate assistantships (GA). These are highly selective positions within the Tobin College of Business and throughout the University. Those selected are placed with faculty or administrative offices for 15 to 20 hours weekly in exchange for a partial or full tuition coverage and a possible stipend. Interested students must submit the GA application and essay for consideration. 

Entering graduate students seeking financial assistance from any federal or institutional source of funding (including student loans) are required to submit a copy of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at to the Federal Processing Center designating St. John’s University, federal institution code number 002823, as one of the recipients. When the FAFSA is processed, the student receives a federal Student Aid Report.
