The Center for Teaching and Learning supports excellence in teaching and encourages research, publications, and other scholarly and creative work produced by the University’s faculty.
Academic service-learning at St. John’s University is a classroom/experiential site- based program that involves students in some form of required community service that benefits the common (public) good and uses service as a means of understanding course concepts. The service activity meets course objectives, and through reflection students examine issues pertaining to social justice and responsibility.
The Office of Grants and Sponsored Research (OGSR) represents the pre-award administration office at St. John’s University. We provide service and support related to research activities across all schools and units at the University and work closely with the Office of Business Affairs regarding post-award items such as the financial management of sponsored projects. Sponsored programs include research, instruction and training, public service, evaluative testing, and other scholarly and creative activities conducted under the direction of University faculty and staff and funded by organizations external to the University in accordance with award regulations.
The Health Education Resource Center of the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences of St. John’s University commits itself to supporting the College’s commitment to scholarship and service to humanity through the application of biomedical knowledge. The Resource Center provides content-based information resources, research support, and reference services to assist the College’s students, faculty, alumni, and friends. The Resource Center also sponsors educational programs which focus on contemporary healthcare issues led by leaders from the fields of pharmacy and allied health.
American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) - The American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) is the national organization representing pharmacy education. The mission of AACP is to lead and partner with members in advancing pharmacy education, research, scholarship, practice and service to improve societal health. AAPA is the national organization that advocates for all PAs and provides tools to improve PA practice and patient care.

ASCLS is a national organization whose mission is to make a positive impact in health care through leadership that will assure excellence in the practice of laboratory medicine.
American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT)
The ASRT is the national professional association for the medical imaging and radiation therapy community; their mission is to advance and elevate the profession and to enhance the quality and safety of patient care.

The Writing Across Communities program provides support for faculty teaching with writing across the disciplines in all colleges. The centerpiece of our program is the Summer Writing Institute, a two-week retreat where faculty workshop both their writing projects and their planned curricular projects. Throughout the year, the Director of Writing Across the Curriculum, Anne Ellen Geller, consults one-on-one with faculty members who want to revise writing assignments, reconsider how they offer students written feedback, or rethink a course’s writing expectation. The program also hosts lunches, workshops, and informal conversations with colleagues for faculty interested in talking about their students' writing, as well as their own writing.
The Office of University Mission offers all full-time employees at St. John's University the opportunity to participate in the 16-month Vincentian Mission Certificate (VMC) professional development program. With its focus on Education, Service and Reflection, the VMC program is designed to empower St. John’s administrators, faculty and staff to live the Vincentian Mission as Mission Leaders. Previous cohorts of the program have already proven vital to instilling a sense of Vincentian service and leadership throughout the University community, bridging the gap between a theoretical understanding of our Catholic and Vincentian mission and its practical application in today’s society.
