CCPS Fast Track Programs

Overview

The Collins College of Professional Studies offers fast track programs (pathways/dual degrees) that allow undergraduate students to complete graduate-level coursework. Undergraduate students pursuing a fast track may apply up to 12-15 credits (approximately 40%) of graduate course work as part of their undergraduate degrees, upon consultation with an advisor. Assuming good academic standing, matriculation into the appropriate graduate program is seamless upon completion of the undergraduate degree.

Please note:

  • Students accepted into a fast track program must remain continuously enrolled in at least one graduate course until the completion of their graduate degree.
  • The graduate level credits may be applied to both degrees indicated on the application if:
    • The student maintains undergraduate indices for both the cumulative and major area GPAs.
    • The student receives a minimum grade of "B" in the graduate level coursework.
  • Fast track students must immediately matriculate into the indicated master’s program upon completing the bachelor’s degree. (Should a student decide to leave SJU and return, these graduate credits will not apply to the graduate degree).
  • Fast Track programs are available only in standard majors for baccalaureate programs.  Students in specialized tracks/concentrations/options may be switched to the standard program to meet the needs of the Fast Track.

Students in fast track programs receive their bachelor’s degrees once the undergraduate requirements are completed and receive their master’s degrees once the graduate requirements are completed.

Generally, Financial aid, including any SJU scholarships, does not carry over once students complete their bachelor's degrees.                              Before enrolling in these programs, students should contact financial services to discuss tuition, fees, and available aid once their BS degree is conferred.

These credits may not be transferred to another graduate program.

Fast Track Dual Degrees

CCPS offers several fast track dual degrees, not only within our college but also with other colleges/schools within the University. These co-sponsored programs start with a CCPS bachelor degree program, and students would begin taking graduate classes in their junior year within the respective graduate program.

Click on the drop down list to see all available programs.

To check for eligibility and to apply to these programs, speak directly with the Dean's office of the respective graduate program.

The dual Bachelor of Science and Juris Doctor program permits you to enter the St. John’s University School of Law before completing your bachelor’s degree and to complete your academic training in six years, earning an undergraduate degree from the Collins College of Professional Studies and a Juris Doctor degree from St. John’s Law. Interested students should visit https://www.stjohns.edu/academics/programs/bachelor-science-juris-doctor to request more information on this program.
