Your Guide to the CCPS Fast Track Program
Through our Fast Track programs, eligible undergraduates can take 12–15 graduate credits—depending on their major—that count toward both their bachelor’s and master’s degrees. With advisor approval and strong academic standing, students can transition seamlessly into their graduate program after completing their undergraduate studies.
How does the Fast-Track Program work?
Students enrolled in a Fast-Track Program will automatically matriculate into their designated graduate program upon successful completion of all undergraduate degree requirements. This seamless transition allows students to begin graduate-level coursework without needing to reapply.
Am I required to remain enrolled in graduate coursework once admitted to a Fast Track program?
Yes. Upon admission to a Fast Track program, students are expected to maintain continuous enrollment in graduate-level coursework each term until the completion of the master’s degree.
Can graduate credits be applied to both my undergraduate and graduate degrees?
Yes—graduate credits may be applied to both degrees, provided that you:
- Maintain the required cumulative and major GPA
- Earn a grade of B or higher in each graduate course
When do I begin the master’s portion of the Fast Track program?
Students transition directly into the master’s program upon completion of their bachelor’s degree. Please note that if you leave St. John’s and return at a later date, graduate credits earned through the Fast Track program may not be applied toward your graduate degree.
Which majors offer a Fast Track program, and am I eligible to participate?
Fast Track programs are available for select standard majors. Students pursuing a specialized track may need to transition to a standard curriculum to qualify. For a current list of eligible programs, scroll down to view the Fast-Track options below.
How do I apply to a Fast Track program, and what does the process involve?
Each Fast Track program listing includes an "Apply Now" button. Click to begin your application or scroll to the top of this webpage, and you can expect to receive an admission decision within 3–5 business days.
When do I receive my undergraduate and graduate degrees?
Students enrolled in Fast Track programs are awarded their bachelor’s degree upon completion of all undergraduate requirements and subsequently earn their master’s degree after fulfilling the graduate coursework.
Are Fast Track Students eligible to participate in both undergraduate and graduate commencement ceremonies?
Students who meet the requirements are eligible to participate in both undergraduate and graduate commencement ceremonies, allowing them to celebrate their accomplishments at each stage of their academic journey.
Is financial aid available for the graduate portion of a Fast-Track or Combined Degree program?
Financial aid typically changes once a student transitions to the graduate portion of the program. Most undergraduate aid, including SJU scholarships, does not carry over. Students are encouraged to consult with Financial Services to review tuition, fees, and potential funding options for graduate study
