Our new program - an MS.Ed in Childhood Special Education and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) -- is a 39-credit program designed for candidates with an initial certification in childhood education and is the only one of its kind in New York State. It leads to two additional certifications - certification in Teaching Students with Disabilities (Childhood, K-6) and Teaching English as a second Language (PK-12).  The successful candidate will have three certifications: childhood education, special education and TESOL -- and will be quite marketable for teaching positions throughout the New York state area. Candidates will not only learn how to become successful in promoting the development of students with disabilities in regular and special education settings but internalize the cutting- edge practices required to teach English learners both content and language while aligning curriculum goals to appropriate state and national standards. All of the courses are offered online.
