Samantha R. Wright was appointed Chief Enrollment Officer at St. John’s University effective July 2023. An innovative and collaborative leader, Ms. Wright assumes this role with a long and distinguished career in higher education and with demonstrated success in leading efforts for admission and enrollment management.
In 2013, she joined the St. John’s University community as Senior Associate Director Admission on the Staten Island, NY, campus. Since then, Ms. Wright has taken on increasing responsibilities within Admission and Enrollment Management, serving as the Director of Admission, Executive Director of Admission, and Assistant Provost for Enrollment Management. In these roles, she has had oversight of the Customer Service Center, Enrollment Management Communications, Enrollment Management Events, Enrollment Management Operations, Graduate Admission, Special Opportunities programs, and Undergraduate Admission.
Prior to joining the St. John’s community, she began her professional career at MBNA America, followed by progressive admission and enrollment experience at Washington College in Maryland and Lasell University in Massachusetts.
Ms. Wright earned her bachelor’s degree in anthropology and master’s degree in psychology, both from Washington College. She resides in New Jersey with her husband and their two children.
