University Events

The Office of University Events provides leadership and strategic support for the University's most significant institutional, ceremonial, presidential, advancement, alumni, and mission-centered events. Working in partnership with academic and administrative units across St. John's University, the Office helps ensure that major events reflect the University's mission and values, uphold academic traditions, strengthen relationships with key stakeholders, and advance institutional priorities. 

The Office oversees a portfolio of high-impact events that celebrate student achievement, recognize leadership and service, support philanthropy, engage alumni and friends, and showcase the University's commitment to excellence. Depending on the nature and scope of an event, University Events may provide direct leadership, collaborate with sponsoring departments, or offer planning guidance, resources, and consultation. 

In addition to managing and supporting major University events, the Office serves as a resource for event standards, protocol, ceremonial practices, and planning best practices. The Office is also responsible for maintaining academic traditions and stewarding important ceremonial assets, including academic attire, presidential honors and awards, and historical event records. 

The Office also promotes a culture of assessment and continuous improvement by evaluating events against defined objectives and outcomes. These insights help inform future planning, strengthen resource stewardship, and ensure that the University's event portfolio continues to advance institutional goals and priorities. 

Through collaboration, thoughtful planning, and a commitment to excellence, the Office of University Events helps create meaningful experiences that bring the St. John's community together and strengthen the University's reputation and mission.
