Even before the Class of 2025 joined the ranks of graduates, St. John’s University reached a landmark achievement: surpassing 200,000 living alumni.

The Class of 2025 joined generations of Johnnies who have become pioneers on Wall Street and in government, law, and politics; the health sciences; education; and more. The 200,000-plus alumni come from all 50 states and range from 19 to 112 years old.

The landmark number reflects St. John’s influence as a Catholic, Vincentian, metropolitan, and global institution. St. John’s alumni live in 130 countries worldwide, including in Taiwan, whose 312 living alumni are the most from any country outside of the United States.

Unsurprisingly, more than half of St. John’s living alumni—116,588—live in New York State. Nearly 18,000, or nine percent, live in New Jersey. Another 8,360, or four percent, call Florida home.

Among foreign residents, 286 live in China, while another 178 live in Italy and 125 live in Canada.

“It is inspiring to see our alumni community continue to grow each year,” said Sara Hunt Munoz, Ed.D., Senior Director, Office of Alumni Relations. “With over 200,000 members, this global network is bound together by a shared foundation of academic excellence, strong work ethic, and enduring values. St. John’s takes pride in the diversity of our alumni and is committed to supporting and celebrating every individual who is part of this vibrant community.”

Among St. John’s six Schools and Colleges, The Peter J. Tobin College of Business boasts the most living alumni at nearly 50,000. St. John’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences claims 42,423, while The Lesley H. and William L. Collins College of Professional Studies has almost 41,000 living graduates, and The School of Education has 29,096.

The School of Law has 18,047 living alumni, just slightly more than the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.

The University’s 155th Commencement added another 2,100 graduates to the alumni rolls. It also created an honor for Tanvir Ahmed, who, at 19 years old, became St. John’s youngest living alumnus. Mr. Ahmed graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science.

At 112 years old, Sr. Francis Dominici Piscatella O.P., ’43Ed, ’53G, is the world’s oldest living nun. A member of the Sisters of St. Dominic of Amityville since 1931, she is also St. John’s oldest living alumna. According to the Gerontology Research Group, she is the 48th oldest person in the world, as of June 9, 2025.

Among the youngest of St. John’s double alumni is Juliana Bracco ’24TCB, ’25MBA, born on November 8, 2003. The 21-year-old from East Meadow, NY, earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Tobin in 2024 and a Master of Business Administration degree in Marketing Analytics at the University’s Graduate-Level Commencement on May 16.

“St. John’s has given me far more than just undergraduate and graduate degrees—it has given me a strong sense of purpose, community, and confidence to embark on my postgraduate journey,” Ms. Bracco said. “Graduating with an M.B.A. at 21 requires hard work and dedication, and I am thankful to everyone at St. John’s who supported me. I am grateful to be part of this legacy.”
