Dr. Sasha Hudson serves as Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, and Treasurer at St. John’s University, joining the institution in October 2025. In this role, she oversees the University’s financial strategy, operations, and stewardship, ensuring fiscal sustainability and advancing St. John’s strategic priorities.
Her areas of responsibility include budget and planning, accounting, financial reporting and analysis, treasury, endowment and investments, debt and capital management, procurement, and insurance. As a member of the senior leadership team, Dr. Hudson’s guidance is instrumental in supporting the University’s mission to provide a transformative education rooted in Catholic and Vincentian values.
Dr. Hudson brings more than two decades of progressive leadership experience in higher education finance, budgeting, and strategic planning. She joins St. John’s from Johns Hopkins University, where she held a series of leadership positions since 2020, most recently as Associate Vice President for Planning and Budget. Among her many accomplishments at Johns Hopkins, she developed the institution’s first-ever, 10-year financial framework to guide long-term debt strategy and capital investment planning, and she led the implementation of its first campus-wide budget system to strengthen financial forecasting and planning. Her collaborative and data-informed approach helped optimize financial performance across divisions and supported the university’s navigation of the financial challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Prior to her tenure at Johns Hopkins, Dr. Hudson served in senior financial leadership roles at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, including as Assistant Vice President and Controller and later as Acting Associate Vice President. Earlier in her career, she served as Comptroller at the University of Baltimore and held positions in audit and accounting with SB & Company, LLC; Ernst & Young; and the Maryland State Highway Administration.
Dr. Hudson holds a Doctor of Business Administration; a Master of Science in Management (Finance Concentration); and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Maryland Global Campus. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Morgan State University and is a Certified Public Accountant licensed by the Virginia Board of Accountancy.
