Yearlong RISE Program Recognized by AACTE as Outstanding Program of Practice
The RISE Program is being recognized by the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (AACTE) as an outstanding program of practice. In October, AACTE spent a day with RISE, filming the program in action and interviewing students, faculty members, and school-based partners. AACTE is creating a series of videos about RISE that will be distributed to their membership as an example of outstanding clinical practice.

Long Island Graduate Center to Open in Hauppauge, NY
In an effort to maintain a strong educational presence on Long Island, St. John’s University has leased 11,000 square feet of space for its new Long Island Graduate Center in Hauppauge, NY. The Suffolk County site replaces St. John’s former Oakdale campus.

47th Annual Northeastern Educational Research Association Symposia
Marcella Mandracchia, Ed.D., Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, and Dr. James Reed Campbell, Ph.D., Professor of Department of Administrative and Instructional Leadership, chaired symposia at the 47th Annual Northeastern Educational Research Association in Trumball, CT this past October 2016. The participants were all former doctoral students of the Department of Administrative and Instructional Leadership.
