St. John’s Adds Five New Programs for Fall 2017

St. John’s University is offering five new academic programs this fall that are designed to prepare students for a constantly evolving job market.

At the undergraduate level, the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences will introduce a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biomedical Sciences. In addition, four new graduate programs are being offered: an online Ph.D. in Literacy (The School of Education); a Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology and an Advanced Certificate in Management for Information Professionals (St. John’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences); and an online Master of Business Administration (The Peter J. Tobin College of Business).

Mangione, Ed.D., Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. “We are very proud of the efforts of our faculty and administrators who have the vision to create these programs and the knowledge and skills to deliver these exciting opportunities to our students.”

The Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences comprises two tracks of study: administrative and basic science. According to Sawanee Khongsawatwaga, Associate Dean in the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, the program has already attracted about 1,000 applications with 670 students accepted for this fall.

The online Ph.D. in Literacy allows working professionals to pursue this advanced degree in a way that fits their busy schedules. The new M.B.A. also offers the advantages of digital learning along with the resources, quality, and networking connections available through The Peter J. Tobin College of Business. The Bilingual Extension of the University’s respected M.A. in Speech-Language Pathology addresses the critical need for professionals who can serve clients in an increasingly diverse society. The Advanced Certificate in Management for Information Professionals prepares professionals who can meet the administrative needs of an information-driven workplace.
