
QUEENS, NY. The Department of Education Specialties in The School of Education at St. John’s University has secured another continuation award from the U.S. Department of Education in the amount of $596,101 for the 2025–2026 academic year.
Project Leader’s focus on English literacy, STEM research and professional development advances the success of English learners, their families, and all students in both public and non-public schools.
"This award enables our exceptional interdisciplinary project team to fulfil the Vincentian Mission of our Graduate In-Person and Online TESOL and Bilingual Education Programs that began decades ago," said Dr. John Spiridakis, Professor and Chair of the Department of Education Specialties who co-directs Project Leader with Dr. Seokhee Cho, Professor and Director of the Center for Creativity and Gifted Education.
Project Leader and previous funded projects led by Dr. Spiridakis have achieved exemplary results due to the interdisciplinary collaboration of the Graduate TESOL Program faculty with talented researchers from other departments and across disciplines.
