
The Manhasset Board of Education recently selected St. John’s University alumnus Christopher J. Pellettieri ’18Ed.D. to serve as the district’s Interim Superintendent of Schools, effective August 1.
“The experiences and lessons learned while earning my doctorate at St. John’s, as well as my recent teaching and service on The School of EducationDean’s Advisory Board, have helped me grow both personally and professionally,” said Dr. Pellettieri. “I can’t wait to share all that I’ve learned with the Manhasset school community.”
Dr. Pellettieri brings a wealth of experience to Manhasset as a dedicated and accomplished educational leader. He most recently served as Superintendent of the Sachem Central School District, where he was widely respected for his commitment to academic excellence, student-centered leadership, and operational transparency.
In addition to being a graduate of The School of Education, Dr. Pellettieri has served as an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Administrative and Instructional Leadership at St. John’s, where he has helped prepare aspiring educators and school leaders.

St. John’s University Announces Commencement 2026 Honorees
St. John’s University will hold its Undergraduate-Level Commencement Exercises on Sunday, May 18, at 10 a.m. on the Great Lawn. The Most Reverend Richard G. Henning, S.T.D., D.D. ’86SJC, ’88M.A., Archbishop of Boston, MA, will serve as this year’s speaker and be conferred an honorary degree during the ceremony.
