The 10th Annual Leadership Symposium hosted by the Department of Administrative and Instructional Leadership in The School of Education at St. John’s University and SCOPE Education Services was held in the D’Angelo Center on the University’s Queens, NY, campus on March 11.
“It is a privilege to see the St. John’s community come together to learn from and listen to each other as we pursue the creation of new knowledge that furthers the field of education,” said James D. Wolfinger, Ph.D., Dean, The School of Education.
More than 90 participants, including alumni and 24 doctoral students, presented roundtable research papers to an audience of other doctoral students and faculty. Sydney Freeman, Jr., Ph.D., Professor, Department of Leadership and Counseling, College of Education, Health, and Human Services, Idaho University, offered the keynote address.
The symposium recognizes the quantity and quality of research produced by the School’s doctoral students, which draws upon the support and mentorship of St. John’s faculty. “A key feature of this doctoral program is the solid commitment that faculty make to their students,” said James R. Campbell, Ph.D., Symposium Director and Professor, Department of Administrative and Instructional Leadership. “The ability of doctoral programs to deliver a degree in a timely fashion is taken seriously at St. John’s.”
