St. John’s University enjoyed impressive improvements in U.S. News & World Report’s recently released survey of Best Graduate Schools. St. John’s School of Law went from 77 (tied) to 74 (tied). The School of Education rose a dramatic 29 points from 134 (tied) to 105 (tied), and the part-time M.B.A. program in The Peter J. Tobin College of Business rose from 117 (tied) to 112 (tied).
“I am proud to report that the School of Law moved up three places in the 2021 U.S. News & World Report's Best Graduate School rankings,” noted Michael A. Simons, J.D., Dean, St. John’s School of Law. Additionally, Dean Simons noted the School’s part-time program was ranked 21, the legal writing program was ranked 32, and the trial advocacy program was ranked 36, and they received top 100 rankings in international law, intellectual property, business law, constitutional law, and criminal law.
“This recognition builds on our track record of exceptional success in bar passage and employment. For our most recently reported class, 92 percent of graduates secured full-time, long-term, legal jobs, placing us 14th nationwide and second in New York City.”
“The School of Education’s talented faculty scholars and researchers,” stressed David L. Bell, Ed.D., Dean, “are committed to providing students an engaging and supportive learning experience that opens doors to rewarding careers in the professions of teaching, counseling, and leadership. We value our high esteem with peer institutions and our educational partners in many of the largest and most diverse local education agencies in the country.”
Tobin’s M.B.A. is a 36-credit program that provides students with a global perspective through case studies, real-world projects, and an experiential capstone course. The part-time structure of the program gives students the opportunity to pursue a full-time career while taking courses during the evening. Students study at the University’s campuses in Queens or Manhattan, NY; on the Rome, Italy, campus; or online.
“This leap in the rankings is recognition of the hard work and commitment of many people to foster successful outcomes,” said Norean R. Sharpe, Ph.D., Tobin’s Dean, Joseph H. and Maria C. Schwartz Distinguished Chair, and Professor of Decision Sciences. “Thanks to a dedicated and talented team of faculty and staff, we continue to create new M.B.A. concentrations, recruit experienced faculty, and collaborate with our extensive alumni network.”
