Each year, St. John’s University hosts a weekend dedicated to our students and their families. See what your student has been up to on campus and how they are adjusting to the St. John’s community. We’re family now!
Family Weekend features great traditional activities like the Family Carnival and much more. This year Family Weekend takes place on Friday, October 6, through Sunday, October 8, and provides students and their families the opportunity to reconnect through a variety of interactive events. To register for Family Weekend please complete the below form.
Events are subject to change and are dependent on the weather. The program will be primarily outdoors, so please dress and prepare accordingly. In the event of significant inclement weather, events may be canceled.

Breakfast with the President (Saturday, 10–11 a.m., Montgoris Dining Hall)
Join us for breakfast with the President of St. John’s University, Rev. Brian J. Shanley, O.P., and hear about the latest University developments and news.
Study Abroad Interest Session (Saturday, 11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m., D’Angelo Center, Room 206)
Discover the exciting world of study abroad opportunities for your Johnnie! Learn about programs such as the Global Passport program and St. John’s Western Europe Semester programs during this session.

Family Weekend Carnival (Saturday, 1–4 p.m., Great Lawn)
Students and families can enjoy a fun-filled afternoon at the Family Weekend Carnival on the Great Lawn. There will be a variety of vendors, games, food, and music.
Taste of New York Family Pep Rally (Saturday, 4:30–7 p.m., Carnesecca Plaza)
The fun continues over at the Taste of New York Family Pep Rally with our St. John’s Cheer and Dance teams. All St. John’s alumni are encouraged to take a photo with their current Johnnie at the legacy photo booth.
Men’s Soccer: St. John’s vs. Providence (Saturday, 7 pm, Belson Stadium)
Head over to Belson Stadium to support our St. John’s Men’s Soccer team as they face off against Providence! It promises to be an exciting match that students and families won't want to miss.
Community Mass (Sunday, 11 a.m., St. Thomas More Church)
Join us for Mass at St. Thomas More Church, a spiritual highlight of the weekend! Light fellowship immediately follows.
Women’s Soccer: St. John’s vs. Providence (Sunday, 1 p.m., Belson Stadium)
Conclude the weekend by cheering for our St. John’s Women’s Soccer team as they take on BIG EAST rival Providence at Belson Stadium.
There are many great events and opportunities to experience in New York City during Columbus Day weekend.
