When Stephanie Correia ’25CCPS learned about NBCUniversal’s Page Program during her first year at St. John’s University, she set her sights on earning a place in the competitive program and building a career in media and entertainment.

“I am going to work toward this goal. I will be in this program,” Ms. Correia recalled. “I knew it wouldn’t just be handed to me. I would have to work for it.”

From that first year on, Ms. Correia approached her time at St. John’s as an opportunity to explore the industry and build the experience that would help her pursue that goal. As a communication arts major in The Lesley H. and William L. Collins College of Professional Studies, she explored different areas of the field through campus organizations, including WRED-TV and WSJU Radio. Internships with Red Storm Sports and the New York Mets gave her additional opportunities to apply her skills beyond the classroom.

She also took advantage of resources through Career Services, particularly site visits to companies across different industries.

“I took every opportunity I could to make new connections,” Correia said. “Going on site visits made me more comfortable entering unfamiliar environments, meeting different teams, and getting a feel for what it’s like to work in an office setting.”

After graduating a semester early, Ms. Correia applied for the Page Program’s spring cycle. Her acceptance marked the culmination of a goal she had pursued since her first year and the beginning of a new chapter in her career.

The full-time, 12-to-16-month program gives early-career professionals interested in media and entertainment the opportunity to complete three four-month rotations across NBCUniversal. As part of the experience, Pages lead studio tours and support audience services for some of NBCUniversal’s most recognizable shows, including The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Late Night with Seth Meyers, and Saturday Night Live. Participants also receive guidance from assignment supervisors and program leadership and serve as company ambassadors.

For Ms. Correia, the program has offered a behind-the-scenes look at how teams collaborate to bring content to audiences. Her first rotation was with the Bravo and Peacock multiplatform team, where she helped schedule on-air promotions and graphics. She then joined Peacock’s social media team, helping promote new releases, such as Love Island, alongside familiar favorites, including The Office and Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

“It’s really cool seeing the work that I’ve been doing come to life,” she said. “There’s so much strategy behind what we think is just a simple post.”

While working with Peacock’s social media team, Ms. Correia also pursued an additional opportunity to work with the TODAY Show on weekends, getting an inside look at the production set in action.

Now in her third rotation with NBC Sports Digital Integrations, Ms. Correia is learning how advertising sales, social media, and production work together to fulfill sponsorship commitments. Each rotation has expanded her understanding of the industry and introduced her to new responsibilities and career possibilities.

Beyond the career experience, Ms. Correia says her biggest takeaway has been her personal growth and increased confidence. She recalls initially feeling intimidated on the TODAY Show set, where the pace and scale of production made it difficult to know what to expect. With experience, she became more comfortable working alongside the crew and recognizing the value of her contributions.

“Looking back only a few months, I’ve grown so much,” Ms. Correia said. “You learn that you’re there for a reason. The work that you’re doing is essential.”

The program has also given Ms. Correia a close-knit community of fellow pages navigating the early stages of their careers. She entered the program alongside 24 other participants and found herself surrounded by peers who shared her drive while pursuing different professional goals.

“The people are the best part about the program,” Ms. Correia said. “We all have different career aspirations, but we all come together. It’s a nice support system.”

As she approaches the end of her final rotation, Ms. Correia is considering opportunities both within NBCUniversal and elsewhere in the industry. She will bring the skills, experience, and connections she has developed into her next chapter, confident that the program has helped prepare her for what lies ahead.

Her advice to current students is to communicate their ambitions and take advantage of the people and resources available to help them pursue their goals. “Once you express interest and express where you see your future going, there are so many resources that want to help you,” she said.
