Gabriella Muñoz '26TCB, a student leader at St. John's University’s Tobin College of Business, has been named one of the 2026 Most Promising Students by the American Advertising Federation (AAF), a prestigious national recognition honoring top emerging talent in marketing and advertising.

The highly selective program recognizes 25 students from across the country each year, bringing together outstanding undergraduate students for a multi-day industry immersion experience with leading agencies, media companies, and brand leaders. The program recognizes students who demonstrate exceptional academic achievement, leadership, creativity, and meaningful impact in their communities.

For Muñoz, the recognition reflects a college experience defined by leadership, service, and purpose-driven work.

A standout presence within the Tobin community, Gabriella currently serves as Vice President of both the Marketing Club and ALPFA, and previously held a leadership role as an Orientation Coordinator, helping welcome and support new students as they transitioned to university life.

“I think what stood out most was my combination of leadership experience, creativity, and purpose-driven work,” Gabriella said. “Across my roles on campus and in the community, I’ve consistently focused on creating meaningful experiences and opportunities for others.”

Her impact has also been recognized by faculty who have worked closely with her.

“Gabriella is one of those rare students whose light you recognize the moment you meet her,” said Jeff Taylor, Professor of Marketing at The Peter J. Tobin College of Business. “She brings an exceptional dedication to learning and consistently seeks opportunities to grow beyond the classroom. Combined with her natural leadership, ability to listen, and infectious positivity, she has all the qualities of someone destined for a bright and successful career.”

Beyond campus, Gabriella has applied her marketing and communications skills in service of others through her work as Media Director for Limitless Achievement NYC, a nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding access and opportunity for Latina high school students through career exposure and professional development programming.

The AAF program also provided Gabriella with direct exposure to leaders across the advertising and marketing industry, including professionals from dentsu, Omnicom, Wieden+Kennedy, Peacock, and The Trade Desk. The experience further solidified her interest in brand strategy and experiential marketing, areas she hopes to pursue professionally after graduation.

Her experiences at Tobin have played a significant role in preparing her for this national recognition.

Among the most impactful has been her involvement in the GLOBE program, where she collaborated on globally focused business challenges and served as the Strategy Team liaison.

“This experience helped me better understand how marketing fits into a larger business context and strengthened my ability to approach problems with both creativity and structure,” Muñoz said.

She credits Tobin with fostering both her professional growth and personal confidence.

“Tobin creates an environment where students are encouraged to step into leadership, take risks, and pursue opportunities that align with their goals,” she said. “That support has played a major role in shaping both my confidence and my direction.”

Looking ahead, Gabriella will continue building on this momentum this summer as she begins a marketing internship with American Express, gaining experience with one of the world’s leading global brands.

Her advice to fellow students is simple: embrace every opportunity.

“Take advantage of every opportunity, even if you don’t feel completely ready,” Gabriella said. “Growth often comes from stepping into spaces and opportunities that challenge you.”

Gabriella’s recognition by the AAF reflects not only her own accomplishments, but also the strength of the experiential learning, leadership development, and student support that define the Tobin experience.
