Educators from across New York State gathered to discuss key issues in Catholic education as The School of Education and the Institute for Catholic Schools hosted a meeting of the Catholic School Administrators Association of New York State (CSAANYS) on October 18 on St. John’s University’s Queens, NY, campus.
“Catholic education is vital today,” said James D. Wolfinger, Ph.D., Dean, The School of Education. “At St. John’s, we want to partner with Catholic schools in the New York City metropolitan area and beyond so that we all are stronger. We deeply appreciate CSAANYS holding their meeting on our campus and look forward to developing a mutually beneficial relationship for many years to come.”
Attendees listened to keynote remarks from Brian Crimmins ’99CBA, ’01MBA, Chief Operating Officer of Chaminade High School and author of the book The Generosity Crisis: The Case for Radical Connection to Solve Humanity’s Greatest Challenges.
In reflection, Mr. Crimmins said, “It was inspiring to see so many Catholic school leaders come together, united by a shared commitment to advancing education through collaboration and shared ideas. It was also a personal treat to be back at St. John’s University, where I could participate in this engaging and meaningful event. Connecting with peers and exploring ways to strengthen our schools is invaluable as we collectively shape the future of Catholic education.”
“We are very happy to be able to host this wonderful event on our campus and we hope that it will become an annual event at St. John’s,” said Robert DiNardo, Director, Institute for Catholic Schools.
