New York, NY (September 12, 2023) – St. John’s University’s Maurice R. Greenberg School of Risk Management, Insurance and Actuarial Science (GSRM), part of The Peter J. Tobin College of Business, will honor Mario Greco, Group Chief Executive Officer of Zurich Insurance Group, as the “2023 Insurance Leader of the Year” at its 28th Annual Insurance Leader of the Year Award Dinner. The University is delighted that Larry Fink, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of BlackRock, will be joining the ceremony as the Honorary Dinner Chairperson, introducing Mr. Greco. The event takes place on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at the Marriott Marquis in New York City. Proceeds from the dinner support the University’s GSRM students and programs.

“Mario has led with distinction one of the largest and most important companies in our field. He is an accomplished and thoroughly global executive, having built and grown Zurich’s brand and position in each of the world’s largest markets,” commented John W. Keogh, President and Chief Operating Officer, Chubb Group, Chairman of the GSRM’s Board of Overseers. “Throughout his career, he has been committed to talent development—both academically, as well as by way of professional education. Alone among our industry’s senior executive ranks, he participates in the leadership/faculty of four first-rank European universities. The Maurice R. Greenberg School of Risk Management, Insurance and Actuarial Science was founded in 1901 as the Insurance Society of New York and over the years evolved into The College of Insurance (TCI). In June of 2001, TCI merged with St. John’s University, becoming part of The Peter J. Tobin College of Business.
