St. John’s University Writing Center Celebrates 20th Anniversary

The St John’s University Writing Center is celebrating its 20^th anniversary--two decades of student consultants helping the SJU community become better, more confident writers. The celebration will take place at 2:00 p.m. on November 3rd in the Institute for Writing Studies in St. Augustine Hall.

 The panel will feature current Writing Center consultants speaking about their experiences with the Writing Center: their research, which they present at national and international conferences; their community outreach to area high schools; their work in editing and journalism; and a variety of ways their Writing Center training and pedagogy has had an impact on them as well as the Writing Center clients.

Informational stations will be situated throughout the Writing Center, highlighting current and past student and staff accomplishments, along with a video further celebrating the accomplishments of our consultants.
