First-year students enjoy ice cream while learning about the Global Passport program, St. John’s University’s unique study abroad opportunity designed especially for incoming students.

The Global Passport program offers first-year students a chance to “internationalize” their academic experience. They take a Global Passport-designated core course, and at the end of the fall or spring semester travel to St. John’s Paris, France, or Rome, Italy locations with their professor and classmates. They live and study in one of these countries for one week to explore the sites and themes they have focused on throughout the semester. The Global Passport program is subsidized to keep the fee at only $750, plus the cost of round-trip airfare.
