Daniel Gomez, a Legal Studies major, took part in the BS Juris Doctor Program and began law school on what would have been his last year of undergraduate studies. He finished his 1L year with good grades, took part in the writing competition, and got onto Law Review. In his 1L summer he was a judicial intern for Judge Castel at the Southern District of New York, where he reviewed briefs, researched legal issues, and drafted portions of two orders.
Throughout his time in law school, he also participated in several student organizations, serving on the executive boards of the Entertainment, Arts, and Sports Law society, and the Latin American Law Student Association.
In his 2L year he wrote his law review note, which deals with Copyright Law and was chosen for publication. Additionally, during his 2L year he was awarded the Hon. P. Kevin Castel ‘72SVC, ‘75L, ‘04HON Scholarship. During his 2L summer, he was a summer associate at Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle LLP. There, he researched legal issues, drafted memos, compliance guides, and a portion of an appellate brief. At the end of the summer, he was given an offer to return, and he accepted. Daniel plans to take the bar exam in June.
