Six Peter J. Tobin College of Business accounting students competed in the Eastern Regionals of the Annual Deloitte Audit Innovation Campus Challenge in Boston on Nov. 10.
It was the first time that Tobin students participated in the annual event, in which 10 schools presented ideas for services to be provided by Deloitte. The services included non-financial statement data, and the use of technology solutions such as drones, block chain and data analytics.
“While the team did not advance to the national finals, they acquitted themselves with poise and intelligence, and articulated their case well,” said Assistant Professor Herb Chain, the team’s faculty advisor. “This was a great experience for the students, giving them exposure to Deloitte and Deloitte exposure to them.”
The students were: senior Jackie Sorto; juniors Zizhao Bao and Amneek Nagra; and sophomores Patrick Fordyce, Dana Melville and Nicholas E. Wunsch.
“I am so proud to have had the opportunity to work with them, and I hope that they benefited by this great experience,” said Chain. “We look forward to next year’s competition.”
